Non-Profit Veteran Erin Ross Chosen to Lead the Organization

Girls Inc. of Greater Los Angeles has announced that they have hired a new CEO to lead the non-profit organization. Erin Ross is a non-profit veteran with over 20 years of experience in non-profit management, development, communications, government relations, and more. She has been nationally recognized for her work, having won the Gleitsman Foundation Award of Achievement and having been featured in the Los Angeles Times, Boston Magazine, The Washington Post, and more.

“I am thrilled to lead Girls Inc. of Greater Los Angeles into the future. There has never been a more important time to empower girls, especially young women of color, to be leaders and changemakers. I look forward to working with our extraordinary board to give girls in systemically under-resourced communities access to programs that inspire them to be smart, strong and bold.”

Erin previously served as the Senior Managing Director of External Affairs at City Year Los Angeles, which partners with schools to help students reach their potential. Erin started at City Year in 2006 and was instrumental in founding the site. From there, she ran the development department for more than a decade, and then led the site in efforts to grow public revenue, including leading a strategy to access state dollars, expand into Inglewood Unified and renegotiate City Year’s contract with LA Unified. Prior to joining City Year, Erin was a member of the founding team of United Leaders, a national non-profit focused on training the next generation of political leaders.

Erin proudly serves on the Boards of Changeist and on the Board of Advisors for the Tisch College of Civic Life at Tufts University, where she is an alumna. Erin is a graduate of the Leadership LA Fellowship and a member of the NationSwell Council.

In addition to the selection of a new CEO, the Girls Inc. of Greater Los Angeles Board announced that they have appointed a new leadership slate. Nicole Sams has been appointed as Board Chair for the 2021-2022 year. Nicole is a Senior Vice President, Sub-Complex Manager at Morgan Stanley Wealth Management.

Additionally, Amy Williams has been appointed as Vice-Chair, Nadine Jarrard has been appointed as Board Secretary, Rusty Helton has been appointed as Treasurer & Finance Committee Chair, Catherine Sadler has been appointed as Brand Committee Chair, Amy Williams and Allison Knizek will co-chair the Fundraising Committee and Barry Patmore will Chair the Governance Committee.
